Who is NINA?

NINA is a non-profit community development corporation at work in the Asylum Hill neighborhood of Hartford, CT, and we rehabilitate blighted historic houses and constructing new, historically sensitive homes on vacant lots that become owner-occupied opportunities that are affordable to low- and moderate-income households. NINA was founded in 2003 by the major corporations in Asylum Hill, including Aetna, The Hartford, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center (now part of Trinity Health New England), and Webster Bank. Together, these neighborhood institutions believed that they could have a greater impact on the revitalization of Asylum Hill, and they continue to support NINA’s efforts. The result has been over $13 million of investment in the neighborhood, and we look forward to continuing to work with our member institutions and all of our partners as we start our third decade of work in Asylum Hill.
