The house was built on the old Joseph Morgan farmstead around 1862, and it was home to Linus Plimpton and his family for 70 years. After the last Plimptons to live in the house sold it in 1946, the house became a group home for seniors and then a homeless shelter managed by the South Park Inn. The shelter remained open until 2020, and in 2021 South Park Inn sold it to NINA. The house is once again a private residence.
