A series of entries designed to capture the ongoing adventures of NINA! See how we came to be where we are today, and follow along as we enter the new century of social media!
Page: 20We are underway with our purchases for West Middle Community School with the funding we received from TeacherDollars. These boxes arrived today at the office, and we’re looking forward to receiving many more.
Okay, time to confess: I have a new camera, and I’m practicing – but some of these shots came out nicely, so I thought I’d share.
Somehow I missed getting these shots when the work was finished, but here they are now!
Work on the interior – and front doors! The space created in the brick above the front doors is for stained glass inserts.
The carpenters made fairly quick work of it!
Today, carpenters arrived from NYC in order to install the fancy woodwork in the gables at 86 & 88 Hawthorn Street. This woodwork will draw the connection between our houses and the big house at 140 Hawthorn Street more closely, and it will add a very nice finishing touch to the houses.
The woodwork was prepared by Fresh Start Pallet Products. Fresh Start is a workforce development program for individuals with substance abuse issues, and Fresh Start provides training and assistance finding jobs. Fresh Start is based in Asylum Hill, and very conveniently for us they operate out of the same building, Veeder Place.
Work is underway on the interior.
