The spacious, well-lit kitchen on the second floor is original to the house in terms of its area, but the new butcher block, which includes the oven and storage space, was donated to us by The Hartford. The Hartford had it on display as a model kitchen, and it was great good luck that we had the perfect space to accommodate it when they offered it to us. We then added cabinets to match the butcher block, here and also in the kitchen on the first floor.
