Page: 719I was nostalgic for my days in DC, and they obliged me.
Since I could get out to Farmington Avenue via the driveway at 279 – which means last time I did this, I was too lazy to go out the South Marshall side and walk around the corner!
Sure looks vacant to me: the lights are on along the western side, but it doesn’t look like anyone is minding the store. I also saw where the business that ran the restaurant is behind on its business property taxes to the tune of $100,000.
The round holes in the stucco on the east side of the house are particularly intriguing.
A visitor to my window on the third floor – bigger than I’m used to, as far as assassin bugs go. Not a great shot, just a silhouette, but even good lighting wouldn’t have mattered anyway, since they’ve never ever cleaned the windows here at Veeder Place.
A leak in one of the many unoccupied spaces in Veeder Place. Believe it or not, the water ran underneath the wall and into the corridor on the other side. Not sure why I didn’t take a picture of that, too, except that it was nearly 6:30 and I was on my way home ….
